Therapeutic MENTORING

Teens

I work alongside families through their teens’ years of identity exploration. Our culture begins expecting a person to commit to certain intentions for their life, identities by which we can gauge them by, and standards by which they can be judged. I help families expand their expectations of a teen to allow room for finding themselves in the world, while staying connected to their “tribe”/family.

Young Adults

Young adults are some of my favorite people to engage in therapy. Their exploration of life is often fraught with many new experiences and expectations. Beyond the safety of home, young adults are navigating college structures, new living arrangements, developing friends, and finding the places where they belong—where they feel a sense of ‘home’ while away from the only home they’ve ever known.

Plan, prepare, execute! Whether daily sessions to start and/or weekly organization and planning, we can meet over video or phone all to:

  • Hash out the goals you want to accomplish,

  • Develop organizational and accountability systems, and

  • Establish a rhythm of communication that keeps the dream alive.

As a trained and experienced ADHD Coach, I have worked with many teens and young adults over the years to assess their motivations (or lack thereof) and strategize the creation of healthy habits that build into strong lifestyles.

My specialties include:

  • Gamification: developing systems of measures and rewards to recognize incremental success (like a text-based RPG, or Chore Wars)

  • Collaboration: utilizing creative and interactive communication platforms to track progress towards goals (i.e. shared to-do lists, regular check-ins, Asana-type project management software)

  • Inspiration: as a Masters-level clinician, I utilize a psychological approach to uncovering motivation (i.e. Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy) to help reframe perspective.
